Frequently Asked Questions

How is fantasy cutting different from traditional faceting?

Fantasy cuts involve cutting channels or grooves into the stone, whereas traditional faceting is limited to creating flat facets. Fantasy cutting can result in some interesting effects that cannot be achieved with traditional faceting.

Do you cut the gemstones on your website?

Yes! Every loose gemstone you see is faceted by me in my workshop in Southern California. None of my work is mass-produced or outsourced to foreign cutting houses.

Do you accept custom commissions?

We are not accepting custom commissions at this time.

Can you cut diamonds?

No, unfortunately I do not have the equipment to be able to cut diamonds. I am able to cut most other gems, though!

Do you make finished jewelry pieces?

Yes! The gemstones I cut can be finished in ring settings. You can see our available bespoke ring settings under the "Build Your Own Ring" tab.

Do you make the rings you sell?

At this time, we work with a US based casting and stone setting house to cast and set our gemstones in finished rings. However, I am working on learning stone setting and engraving and will be traveling to Italy to attend Accademia Delle Arti Orafe (one of the finest jewelry schools in Europe) this year. I hope to add stone setting to my skill set soon!

Do you offer both lab and natural gemstones?

Yes! I precision-cut both lab and natural gems.
