About
My journey into gem cutting is rooted in a lifelong passion for making and problem solving. This led me to study mechanical and materials engineering in school, and work in the aerospace industry after graduating. This previous career path helped me to cultivate a deep appreciation for experimentation, iteration, and precision, all of which now guide my faceting work.
My initial taste of the jewelry industry came while planning the proposal to my now wife. I seriously considered making her engagement ring entirely from scratch, but she (very graciously) declined and suggesting her engagement ring not be my first project in the field. I still ended up creating the 3D model of her ring, and then had it fabricated by a local jeweler, but the idea of creating finished jewelry pieces stuck with me.
Today, I cut gemstones in my home workshop in Southern California. I’m currently focused on and particularly drawn to the challenge of precision faceting, but I fully intend to explore making finished jewelry pieces in the near future.
At The Fellowship Forge, my goal is to craft unique gemstones of exceptional quality. Whether you're a jeweler, collector, or simply someone looking for a meaningful stone, I’m honored to be part of your story!
